We had another quiet night last night. Scott and I slept as best you can sleep with buzzers going off all the time and nurses coming in to reposition him every hour. He told me this morning his physical pain is tolerable but feels uncomfortable in the positions they lay him in. I could hear him speak earlier this morning because the balloon in his trachea was a little deflated so he was able to propel his voice over it. It was a very robotic voice but it was nice to be able to understand him without reading his lips. It turns out I’m not a very good lip reader.

Today Scott and I meet with one of the Drs so that Scott can have a little Q&A. The family and I have been educated on his injury, the complications, what to watch for, and we’ve been given an idea of what the future looks like. Scott hasn’t had that opportunity yet. I told him last night we’ll be having a meeting today and to start thinking of questions that he has for the dr. I let him know that it is completely up to him as to who he would like in the room when he has the conversation. He asked me to stay the entire time. I keep reminding Scott while this is the hardest thing he has ever had to face he is not alone. I’m by his side with our families and hundreds if not thousands of friends. I haven’t started reading all of your entries to him yet but I have the ability to print them out and I can make him a book of all the inspirational messages people have left. My dad and I were talking last night about all the people Scott has touched in his life. I have told Scott this but without actually reading him the messages I don’t know if he fully grips the magnitude of the impact he has had on people. Now that he is aware I will start to read him your messages.

I also have received some messages from several people about setting up a non-profit organization for Scott. We are in the process of doing that so once I have the information for you I will post it and those of you who would like to contribute can do so through that fund.

Thank you again for the support, prayers, and inspiration.
