Today has been a better day. Scott is definitely coherent and he looks so handsome. His color is back and his eyes are clear. His EEG did come out ok so that means that he did not suffer brain damage when his heart stopped two nights ago.
He did have some irregular heart rhythms this afternoon which prompted a 12 lead EKG. At this point they believe this is due to the injury Scott sustained. His brain is forced to relearn how to send the messages to his heart.
Scott is still on the vent. His right upper lobe collapsed again so they are using the Ambu bag to try to reinflate the lung.
I guess I need everyone to just focus the prayers on Scotts outlook. As to be expected, Scott is very depressed. It’s difficult for the family and I because it is hard to know what to say to him. Scott has really only been “with it” for a two full days and we’ve been mourning this for a week and a half and it’s not even our body. I can not even imagine for a moment the emotional pain he is feeling.
