While I have a quick moment alone I thought I should update you all on how the meeting went today. The dr came in and let Scott know the severity of his condition. He answered all the questions that Scott had and then let Scott know that it is his decision to fight this battle. I swear to you that waiting for Scotts response may have been the longest in moment of my life. I didn’t have to hold my breath long because Scott only took about a two second pause before saying he wants to fight this battle. He believes we will overcome this!!!! I am so happy!!!! Our families are ecstatic!!!! Scott has such a beautiful mind and he still can do so much with that mind. In addition, I know that God kept Scott with us for a reason. We all know how inspirational Scott is so imagine what he can do with this! Scott and I talked for a long time after the dr left. I told him this is not going to be easy for his type A personality but he has to delegate. We recognize it is a long uphill battle but it’s a battle we are ready to fight. I know that there will be steps backwards (i.e. 3 nights ago) but we’ll keep plowing forward. If anyone can do this I believe Scott can.

On another note, Scott does have the beginning stages of pneumonia. They found one of the worst organisms growing in a culture they took but they are using twodifferent medications with two separate mechanisms of action to help kill it. Keep Scott in your prayers. While he is on the ventilator pneumonia is his biggest enemy.

Also, the case manager came in and said that she has been in contact with Cleveland Metro. This is where we are planning on putting Scott for rehab. They are ranked, I believe, number 4 for spinal care rehab in the U.S. In fact, we’ve been told that Christopher Reeves spent a short stint at Cleveland Metro. The good news is that they have a policy that they only accept patients into their rehab that have been in their ICU. This means that Scott will be transferred much sooner than expected. This will make things much easier for the family and I. At least, we can wash our clothes!

I hope all of this news makes everyones day as bright as it has made mine:)
