Today has been a really good day so far. When I arrived this morning a counselor was in talking to Scott for a while. I am happy that he is open to this. I think it’ll do him good to get some of his feelings out. I gave them some privacy and when I came into the room Scott was back to snoozing. This pneumonia is taking a lot out of him but the sleep is only going to help heal his lungs.

The nurse told me that so far Scott has been stable today. Frankly, after the last several weeks, I LOVE stable. The nurse also told me that although Scotts lungs are not looking good yet they getting worse. Scott completed his antibiotic for his lungs today and his phlegm has been much clearer than it has been. The respiratory therapist came in to do some breathing studies on Scott. Upon the completion of the study he stated that although Scott has extremely weak lungs he feels the results are “workable”. Of course, Scott felt discouraged by this but the therapist reminded him that getting off the vent is not something that happens overnight. He did make some improvements to the ventilator he is still not ready for CPAP.

I read Scott some more inspiring stories that I received from several of you. He enjoys hearing them and I think it gives him courage to fight. I have also received some queries about what hospital Scott is at and if you can send him cards. The answer is he is at Metro Hospital in Cleveland in the SICU. You can send cards but they are strict about prohibiting pretty much anything else including flowers and edibles. My goal is that we can get him out of SICU as soon as possible and onto the rehab floor. They are much less restrictive and they even said that they’ll let me spend the night some nights:)

Thank you again for the prayers. Although this is a slow process, I can see Gods healing powers mending Scott.
