Scott had a good night last night. His fever is down to 100 and he seemed relatively peaceful as he slept. Overnight I heard two nurses whispering about how the room Scott is the “miracle room”. Apparently, the last two people in this room miraculously overcame their injuries while staying in here. I’m praying God makes one more miracle happen in this room.
They are lowering his dose of the medicine that makes him so spacey during the day so that we can get him on a better sleep/wake schedule. His hemoglobin is low so he is probably going to have to get some blood today. He lost a lot in surgery but they were able to save it so the blood he gets today is his own. This is a good thing because they can reduce some of the blood pressure meds Scott is on. Also this helps his respiratory health. On a positive note, the test that they did yesterday to test for organisms in his lungs came back ok. So far his lungs are clear of pneumonia. Providing things look good with the drainage with his chest tube they will pull that out tomorrow.
I am helping with baths now and Scott seems to enjoy being cleaned up. The nurse let me try to brush his teeth last night and when I asked Scott to open up so I could get the toothbrush in he clenched his teeth! It was pretty funny. I can’t blame him…I think I’d rather leave it to the pros if I were him.
Please continue with the prayers. It is a struggle to keep my spirits up and reading your messages helps me keep positive. It’s very reassuring to know so many people are praying. I also wanted to note that I know everyone wants to help and the family and I appreciate that immensely. Right now things are still very critical so all we can really ask for are prayers. As the days move forward and we are able to get Scott back to Cleveland I anticipate that we’ll need much more help so the family and I will be reaching out more at that time. Thank you again for your thoughts and prayers.

I chose to go to the beginning of this journey for you Scott and read the first entries.
I recall when I first read the entires from beginning to end – I cried !
Now you make laugh and you push and get so much done. You have plans and goals and direction.
You didn’t just survive this trauma – you are Living !
