Hello everyone,
This is Scott again – sorry it took a few days to get back to the journal like I promised. I’ve been pretty busy with visitors and therapy. It has been great to see everyone who has stopped by. Therapy has been going pretty well; I am now at the point where I can sit up with my feet on the ground. We are working towards the big day when they try to stand me up for the first time. I expect to pass out once or twice, but I am still looking forward to that day 🙂

The therapists continue to do electrical stimulation work on my arms. No movement yet, but they are feeling and seeing some muscle twitching. I keep working hard for the day when I can move them on my own. After I give my wife and family a hug I plan to spend most of my time scratching my head and face, which are always itchy!

Overall, things are going well at Rae Ann. The food stinks, but you can’t win them all. Soon I hope to have my bluetooth set up so I will be able to make and receive phone calls. As soon as that is in place I will let you know.

We continue to look into spinal cord rehab facilities where I can go for some more intense rehab. So far, Shephard in Atlanta, Craig in Denver, Kessler in NJ, Kennedy Kreiger in Baltimore and Chicago Institute are the ones that seem the most promising. I did have a chance to meet with Chris Wynn, who was featured in the Plain Dealer regarding the work he is doing to bring a top notch therapy/gym to Cleveland. Chris was injured 17 years ago and is a very positive and inspriational guy to talk to. He plans to model his gym after Project Walk in California. He went there a few years ago and experienced tremendous success. After meeting with him, I have no doubt that his facility will yield others the same results.

Once we have identified my next steps, I will need to raise the appropriate funds to make it happen. We will most likely need to have another successful fundraiser. The costs for Rae Ann have forced us to tap into our previously raised funds. I will keep everyone posted on the details in the event you are interested.

In closing I continue to thank all of you for the support and prayers I continue to receive. I do believe that they make a difference.

Talk to you soon,
Scott
