I have posted some pictures of my injury in the Gallery. I am constantly being asked questions about the extent of my injury, and decided to share some information that helps illustrate this.
The surgeon who performed my surgery said my accident was the third worst injury he had seen in his 17 years of operating on patients. He warned my family that the odds were against me surviving the whole ordeal due to the extent of injury. It is easy to see how displaced my neck was in the X-rays. The fact that I am able to eat, swallow and breathe on my own still amazes many within the medical community.
