Happy Labor Day! I think that is appropriate since I want to thank all of you for your “labor of love” on August 29, 2009.
When Scott’s sister, Lindsey, announced on August 4th that she was putting together a fundraiser for August 29, there was a collective gasp because none of us thought it was possible and felt it could be a disaster. BOY! WERE WE WRONG!
There are no words that can express our gratitude to all of you for what you did for Scott that night. The evening far exceeded our expectations, and I can only believe that it was because of the love you all feel for Scott and Kristy. We can never begin to thank everyone personally for their contribution – whether it was a cash donation, a gift donation, a food donation or a donation of self. The group of volunteers we had were AWESOME. Every one of you, in your own way, played a significant part in the evening. If we started to list all of you there would never be an end to this journal post.
We do however need to thank Lindsey for “getting it done”; we need to thank the current and former business associates of Scott’s for their EXTREMELY GENEROUS GIFT DONATIONS. We need to thank Camp Cheerful and their employees for allowing us the use of their facilities, letting us create havoc for several days leading up to the event and then offering their volunteer services – what a wonderful facility for a special event.
Make sure when you are looking for a great eating spot you check out : Riverstone Taverne in Valley City, Sokolowski’s University Inn in Tremont, and The South Side in Tremont – make your sleeping arrangements with The Residence Inn in Middleburg Hts. Please enjoy Sherman’s (No Name )Band and Blonde Boy and the Groans for your listening pleasure. I hope I gave them some good “plugs”.
We know that we will need to have more fundraisers in the future and hope that you will continue to be a part of them – for now, God Bless all of you for what you have done.
Please continue to keep Scott in your prayers. Your encouraging words mean so much to him and he enjoys listening to them. On behalf of Scott, Kristy, Lindsey, Felix and myself –THANK YOU – YOU ARE AWESOME!
