This is not going to be a long post but I needed to get it out. Last night, for the first time in 3 nights, I got a sleeper room here in the hospital. I recognized the lack of sleep was making me a bit emotional. I told the nurse to call if Scott woke up asking for me. Well, at 4am I received a call from the nurse telling me to come down immediately. Scotts heart stopped twice and he stopped breathing on his own. I sprinted down here as fast as I could and called the family. His heartbeat stabilized since I’ve been here but Scott is not coherent. He is back on the vent. His eyes are blood shot and glassy. His white blood count is slightly elevated. They are going to do a CAT scan and see if he had a pulmonary embolism. They are also going to do an EEG to check his brain waves because Scott is unresponsive. In addition, they have to find out if or what type of infection his body is fighting. I am not sure what’s to come.
