Today was another great/stable day! I didn’t write during the am to early afternoon because Scott slept the whole time so I didn’t have any new information for you. I spent the morning reading a really great book and watching Scott snooze. This may sound dull but it really isn’t. Not only was the book entertaining but Scott sleeping is too. Since the accident he’s become incredibly animated when he sleeps. He talks, smiles, and raises his eyebrows. He looks really happy and peaceful which is wonderful.

Scott got a good amount of sleep the night before and he had a stable night that turned into a completely stable day. They did not try to get him on CPAP today but they are putting him on a newer, smaller ventilator tomorrow that will take him to rehab. This smaller vent has the capability to be mounted on his wheelchair when he gets one. It appears that Monday is our goal for rehab and based off the last couple days I think that it is extremely realistic! They already have a room set up for him. I asked if it would be at all possible to get in to decorate it for him as a surprise but they said no just in case we encounter a delay. No big deal! Scott probably would probably prefer to regulate what I hang up anyway!

I am so excited for Chapter three (rehab) for two reasons.
1. There is an extra bed in the room for the nights that I’m allowed to spend the night! YAY!!! No more uncomfortable recliners!
2. A little further down the road I can bring Kingsly up!!!! Scott misses her so much. I take videos of her everyday to show him and he gets glassy eyed saying how much he misses her.

Rehab is going to be amazing! I know that it’s going to be tough but I know Scott can do it. Once we get more adjusted into the schedule up there I’m going to start scheduling visits for people who would like to come cheer him on. It may be a bit further down the road because we really do have to be careful of germs as Scott is extremely susceptible of contracting many illnesses. If we can get him successfully weened off the vent, his risks will decrease more. I recognize the importance of slowly getting his fan club in because I know that none of us will let him quit and he needs to hear it first hand. He mentioned tonight that he is afraid of what people will think of him and he’s afraid people will stare. I told him they will absolutely stare because he’s incredibly handsome! I pulled out my compact and showed him what he looked like and he smiled and said, “I am still good-looking!”

Scott has jovial moments but he is still pretty blue and his confidence has really taken a blow. At the same time, I’m quite confident that rehab will frustrate him enough to pull out his inner athlete and that will push him to rise above all this. As everyone has mentioned, Scott is very stubborn and determined and as soon as he directs that energy towards positivity he’ll be moving mountains! I’m so proud of how far he’s come already!

Thank you all for the prayers! I will be thankful for eternity! The outpouring of your kindness and support never ceases to amaze me!
