So today is Tuesday and we are still in the SICU. No one has mentioned being moved back to rehab yet. Scotts right bottom lobe in his lung is still collapsed. The last update I’ve heard is, if it doesn’t reinflate by Thursday they will bronch him again. The doctor came in this evening and told Scott they want to put a pacemaker into his heart. They explained that due to Scotts injury his brain isn’t able to balance the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system. The parasympathetic wants to take over which means that his heart wants to run slow. A pacemaker will help regulate his heart so his heart doesn’t go into cardiac arrest. They have also discussed a diaphragm pacer which would help Scott breath on his own.

To sum things up, there are a lot of really big decisions that Scott has to consider. These decisions are big and we are so young. Who would think that at 29 I would be helping my 33 year old husband decide on pacemakers? I know that God doesn’t give us more than we can handle but at this point I am begging for a break.

Thank you for your continued prayers.
