Hi all! This is going to be another quick post because I am EXHAUSTED. We have found out first hand that rehab is really as non-stop as everyone had warned us it would be!
I just wanted everyone to know that Scott passed the swallow study! I got to feed him chicken parm for dinner last night and he ate almost all of it! I was shocked that his first meal could be something so heavy! I was anticipating apple sauce not pasta but as you can imagine Scott was thrilled! His appetite hasn’t been really big yet but his thirst can’t be quenched. Believe it or not, after all the blue Kool-Aid hype, he hasn’t even wanted that. He actually wants water, Gatorade, milk, orange juice and even Ensure. I’m really indifferent about what he drinks because I’m too thrilled by the fact that he CAN drink!
As you can see we’ve hit a few more milestones. We are headed in the right direction and I know that this road is long but these small miracles bring us inspiration to keep moving forward. The one area that still needs many prayers is Scotts nerves. He is still really nervous a lot of the time and he gets too caught up in negative thinking! I’ve pulled out every inspirational prayer, quote, story that my mind has stored but nothing seems to help. Please continue to pray for Scotts disposition and his anxiety.
Thank you all SO very much for the prayers, support, hope and encouragement. Getting on this site is something I look forward to everyday. Now that Scott can stay awake for extended periods of time he has me read the messages you all post, sometimes repeatedly if he’s touched. Reading the guestbook makes me smile and helps Scott believe that there truly are thousands praying for us! Thank you all again! You and your prayers give us strength!
