Hey there! Remember me?

It seems like it’s been forever since I posted something. The last time was the final day of September, and as I write this it is the concluding day of March. That’s the longest I’ve ever gone without writing, which is an eternity for someone who likes to consider themselves somewhat of a writer.

I had surgery to remove my gallbladder, appendix, and about a dozen bladder stones in October. I’ve been dealing with some different stomach issues and at present an infection in my throat. It sounds like a lot, but don’t worry, I’m not falling apart, I’m just old!

Full transparency, I’ve kind of been stuck in a funk. Every time I think about writing. I force myself to find something else to do. I’ve never been a procrastinator, but for some reason it’s come easy lately. But like the old saying, “If we wait for things to be perfect before we begin, we will never get started.” So it’s springtime and I am going to allow myself to also benefit from a fresh bloom.

My silence should not be confused with inactivity, though. I still find myself extremely busy behind the scenes with Getting Back Up. The pandemic slowed down our ability to dole out assistance on a consistent basis, however, the organization now finds itself in full gear. GBU benefited from a successful Facebook fundraiser (for my birthday) in early March, and we have been able to help several individuals in need of assistance. Additionally, GBU was awarded the spinalcord.com Trust Badge for its dedication to the spinal cord injury community.

I also continue to find myself busy with my duties for LEAP advocating for individuals with disabilities across Northeast Ohio. Additionally, I was recently appointed to the board of directors for, Luminary Landing. The organization is committed to building unique communities that will serve the needs of non-elderly adults with disabilities in an uplifting and modern setting. Sounds a lot like GBU’s idea for The Quad, doesn’t it? Needless to say, I’m excited about what this opportunity might entail.

There is a lot on the horizon to be excited about, not to mention that warmer weather should soon be here. Looking forward to what’s to come!

It’s my intention to stay connected with all of you on a much more frequent basis!

Stand Strong!

Scott

Continued great work! Congrats to GBU for the award and to you for the Board appointment to Luminary Landing! 🥂 So grateful for your ongoing work —and with LEAP, too. Prayers for your health and energy to continue to move mountains. Thanks for the update, Scott.
