Hi everyone,
Just a quick note to let everyone know that I am still fighting hard. Another strong week of therapy. they now have me laying prone with my neck over the edge of the bed; I am barely able to support my head in this position but feel, with practice, I will get stronger. The weather was great this past week which allowed me to be outside for a little bit every day. I even had a therapy session outside. It has me looking forward to even warmer days.
I’ve also started receiving massages every other week. I want to thank the ladies who have arranged for these to take place. They are greatly appreciated and feel wonderful. I also want to thank my sister, Lindsey, and her friend, Nick, for the wonderful freshly poured Guinness Draught they brought me on St. Patrick’s Day. they were able to use their “connections” to actually get a fresh pint out of the bar and into my room. It was as tasty and delicious as I recall. I’d also like to thank Kathi for her wonderful “gift” as well.
Thanks to everyone who sent me information on Easy Stands and Tilt Tables they tracked down. I thought I had a lead on a great Easy Stand, but as I looked into it found out that the model I was looking at would not suffice. Please continue to forward any information you may come across.
Kristy is out of town for a week and a half for work. I miss her greatly but also think the time away will help give her some time to rest. She has been so busy with work, me, and a whole slew of other things; not to mention battling cold, flu herself. However, I still can’t wait for her to come home. She has already told me she can’t wait to get back and have our “movie night” together. All of the nurses bring me in bootleg DVD’s, so there is always something good to watch.
Sorry to cut this short but I want to get back to March Madness! I’m doing pretty good in my brackets, and have picked most of the upsets – except OU’s victory over Georgetown. Didn’t see that one coming. Finally, I’m proud of my Lehigh Mountainhawks and their performance against Kansas last night. They kept it close until midway through the second half, I thought it was a valiant effort. But considering I picked Kansas to win it all I’m not too disappointed in the outcome.
