I’m still here.

So I’ve been 40 for almost a month now. Still surviving. Although things didn’t exactly get off to a rocking start. I spent the first week in bed due to a busted wheelchair that happened the night of my surprise party. The following week, LG, my favorite cat passed away. She’s was with me since I left the nursing home so it’s definitely different without her.

However, a lot of good has happened as well. Getting Back Up hosted a joint fundraiser with Buckeye Wellness Center and raised enough proceeds to purchase a Rifton Dynamic Pacer, a great piece of equipment that will assist individuals (including myself) with gait training. Thank you to all those who made this possible!

A lot of progress has also been made on my new home. I am definitely looking forward to making plenty of new memories once I move in. It’s been a long time coming, but the way things are shaping up, definitely worth the wait.

And Zero will soon be a therapy dog. It doesn’t take a lot to be certified. A few things are required such as accepting strangers, sitting politely for petting, sit and stay commands, being comfortable in crowds, as well as around other dogs. He definitely thrives when it comes to these tasks, so I’m pretty confident he will pass with flying colors. He’s already a huge hit wherever he goes.

Finally, everyone knows how much I love quotes, positive images, videos, etc.. I recently came across one that I felt was worth sharing and worth reflecting on. It’s about a three letter word.

It’s been a while between updates. My intention is to get back to posting on a more frequent basis. Fortunately, it’s been a case of no news is good news, as I’ve been keeping busy behind the scenes with a lot of interesting stuff. Look forward to sharing more updates.

All the best to everyone during this Easter season. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.

Stand Strong!

Scott

    Hi Scott,

Glad to hear you got your wheels back under you again. So sorry to hear about your cat passing. We lost our 15 year old cat over a year ago and I still miss her like crazy.

Happy to hear you are making progress on the house. It will be ready before you know it. The house project sounds amazing. I’m looking forward to seeing it someday on one of my future visits back to Cleveland.

    Take care!

Nice to hear from you. I know how hard it is to lose an animal…we connect on a level and they become like family. How do you get certified as having a service animal? My daughter’s doctor signed a paper for her housing so she could have one. It’s a cat and has helped her depression so much! But there is another way to certify? As you are saying?
Well take care and hang in there. Summer is coming!

Still love your posts, Scott. You are still inspiring! What happened to your monkey? Maybe I missed something? You must be so excited to have your own place. Best wishes from North Carolina.
