Best of luck to Katie as she undertakes Race 1 of 50 this Sunday in Michigan!

Katie will be running 50 half marathons in 50 states in order to raise $50,000 for Getting Back Up!

After I announced this endeavor earlier this week, several people have reached out to me asking how they can participate. Please contact me if you are planning to run a race and would like to help raise money for those living with spinal cord injuries in the process.

100% of the money Getting Back Up raises goes towards assisting individuals whose lives have been affected by a spinal cord injury.

Each time I meet someone living with an SCI I am always impressed by the sheer will and dedication he or she exhibits to achieve a better quality of life.

It’s not easy. It’s an arduous challenge.

And it’s not cheap. Lifetime expenses can easily reach into the millions.

I founded Getting Back Up to help those in whatever way possible who deserve an improved quality of life. In fact, just this week we were able to assist an individual from Michigan with a scholarship to Project Walk Orlando in April.

We may not be raising millions to find a cure, but sometimes something as simple as a month of exercise can do more for an individual in the immediate future then a cure waiting in the pipeline.

Every little bit helps.

Thank you to those who have continued to support not only me, but all of the countless others working every day towards a better future!

Stand Strong!

Scott

    Hi Scott,

This is perfect timing. I have spent the last year trying to get in better shape. I recently decide to train to run a 5k race. I have not yet found a race that inspires me, so perhaps I can organize my own race with the proceeds going to getting back up.
I plan for Sean to wheel along beside me!
    Your thoughts?
