“Faith gives us real eyes to realize where the real lies.”
Just a quick update to let everyone know how up and down this injury can be. As great as I have been feeling lately, I have been on bed rest for the past three days. This is due to some pressure spots that have developed from the extended time I have been spending in my chair. It’s a cruel twist of fate, that because of the time I spend out of bed getting on with my life it can work against me and force me back into bed. I do as many weight shifts as I can while in my chair, but unfortunately can’t always compensate for the fact I just don’t have enough of a butt to ward off the pressure from sitting. So it will probably be another few days of low key activities – the only good news is I can watch a lot of football this weekend.
Speaking of football, this past weekend a Rutgers football player suffered a tragic accident while making a tackle. Eric LeGrand, broke his neck at C3/C4 and has shown no sign of movement below his neck since the injury. Once again, I am reminded of the devastation of an SCI. It seems to be more prevalent than ever, or at least I am more aware than ever. I have reached out to Eric and his family to offer any assistance I can provide. I ask that as you pray for me, please pray for all of us living with SCI’s.
Finally, the support bracelets are in and will be available for purchase in the near future. I will be posting details on my website. A portion of the proceeds raised will be donated to The Miami Project to help find a cure for paralysis. Stay tuned for more details.
As always, thank you for your prayers and support. It is greatly appreciated.
